Description
Membership provides you with the club’s monthly 16-page color newsletter Headlight & Markers, distributed digitally. Click here to see an example of Headlight & Markers.
Members, and the general public, are invited to attend monthly meetings with special speakers and presentations of slides, videos, and digital photography.
However, joining puts you on the email invite list for additional members’ only slide shows, programs, and trips. Your membership gives you access to the club’s library of nearly 5,000 books and opportunities to gather in a space inside Cincinnati Union Terminal with a view of the north end of the city’s main railroad yards.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with persons who share your unique interests including railfan photography, historical research, rail travel, and collecting. You may even have a chance to hear remembrances from retired employees and longtime train watchers.
There are opportunities to learn how to use commercially available railroad radio scanners, how to digitize negative and slide collections and more.
Members are encouraged to become involved in ongoing research projects and initiatives. The club has a Cincinnati Union Terminal work group going through the extensive records and photography of the Terminal’s construction and early years of operations. Members are working to organize, digitize and leverage our extensive photo and document collection on various historical railroad subjects covering Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and beyond.
