Danny Harmon
Danny Harmon is a widely respected railfan, content creator, and retired broadcast professional best known as the creator of the YouTube channel Distant Signal. Based in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, Harmon has spent decades documenting the evolution of railroading in the Sunshine State and beyond.
Before becoming a prominent figure in the railfan community, Harmon had a legendary 42-year career in television. He was the longtime station announcer for FOX 13 Tampa Bay (WTVT), where his deep, authoritative voice became a staple for generations of viewers. He officially retired from the station in early 2025, allowing him to focus more on his passion for railroad videography.
Harmon launched the Distant Signal YouTube channel in 2006. The channel is celebrated for its high production value, blending professional-grade cinematography with Harmon’s polished narration.

David Rohdenburg
David Rohdenburg is a lifelong Cincinnati resident and an accomplished rail photographer whose work has appeared in Trains Magazine and Railfan & Railroad. Most recently, he authored a feature on the final days of the B&O CPL signals on the CSX Indiana Subdivision for Railfan & Railroad. A dedicated family man, he often incorporates his wife and daughters into his photography, using the human element to add a unique layer of storytelling to his images.
