The Cincinnati Railroad Club and Train Aficionado are teaming up for a full day of rail-focused fun on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Join us at the Fernbank Lodge for an afternoon of guest speakers and a photo contest, followed by a classic spring cookout dinner.

The 2026 Railfan Summit is shaping up to be an unmissable event for anyone passionate about the rails and the technology behind them. We are honored to welcome legendary broadcaster and Distant Signal creator Danny Harmon, who will be joining us via a live remote broadcast from Florida. His decades of professional storytelling and cinematic expertise have set the “gold standard” for railroad videography. Immediately following his presentation, Danny will stay on the line for an exclusive Q&A session, giving attendees a rare chance to pick the brain of a master filmmaker.

Joining the line-up of speakers, a lifelong Cincinnati resident, David Rohdenburg has established himself as a premier voice in modern rail photography. His evocative work has been featured prominently in industry-leading publications, including Trains Magazine and Railfan & Railroad. Most recently, David authored a definitive feature for Railfan & Railroad documenting the final days of the iconic B&O CPL signals on the CSX Indiana Subdivision—a piece that captured a significant transition in our regional railroad landscape.

Steering the day’s events is our host, Cincinnati Railroad Club President Jonathan Higgins. As an accomplished blogger, railfan, and scanner expert, Jonathan is the founder of both Train Aficionado and The Scanner Guys. His mission is dedicated entirely to the hobby itself, documenting his railfanning outings through high-quality video and photography. His expertise ensures this summit will keep the community perfectly tuned in to the technology and storytelling that drive the modern railfan experience.
