The Mysterious Bridge in Walnut Hills

On June 2, 2021 club member Roy Hord represented the club well on the OKI Wanna Know podcast hosted by Bill Rinehart that aired on Cincinnati Public Radio 91.7 FM WXVU. A listener contacted WVXU asking about a bridge over I-71 between Reading & Gilbert (near the WCPO television studio) she had seen from the Cincinnati Art Museum parking lot. She mentioned it didn’t appear to connect to anything & wondered what its use had been, thinking possibly used by trolleys or streetcars back in the day. Thanks to Roy for sharing some of his knowledge about the history of the former Cincinnati, Lebanon, and Northern Railway on behalf of the club to clear up the mystery of that bridge for everyone.

If you missed the broadcast you can still listen to this episode below or read the transcript (and see a few photos of said bridge) on the WVXU website at OKI Wanna Know: What’s with that blue bridge to nowhere in Walnut Hills?
