The Cincinnati Railroad Club presents the artifact of the month for March. This is a relatively new acquisition for the club\u2019s collection. We showcase the bell from the Chesapeake and Ohio locomotive number 2759. This locomotive was a Kanawha 2-8-4, K-4 Class, and was manufactured in Lima, Ohio. Designed to burn soft coal, with a boiler pressure of 245 LBS, the tender capacity was 21,000 gallons. Driving wheel diameter: 69 inches. The 2759 was included in a production run of 10 locomotives, 2750-2759. The Kanawhas get their name from the Kanawha River in West Virginia.
