The Cincinnati Railroad Club, established in 1938, proudly holds the distinction of being one of Ohio’s oldest and most respected clubs dedicated to the appreciation and promotion of railroading. Over the decades, our club has fostered a vibrant community of rail enthusiasts, bringing together individuals from all walks of life who share a common passion for trains and rail history.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a non-profit organization, we operate entirely on the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, who generously contribute their time and expertise to ensure the club’s continued success and growth. Our members are the heart and soul of the club, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where both seasoned railroad aficionados and newcomers alike can come together to learn, share, and collaborate.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are seeking individuals who are both skilled and novices to help with various volunteer positions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Storytelling Team

Be a part of something special!<\/span>
\nJoin the club\u2019s storytelling team.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can help bring history to life by lending a hand as part of a photo storytelling team. Along the way, you will see and learn about the plethora of historic photos the club has in its archive. We will share them with the world in engaging ways. You don\u2019t have to use a computer to help with some jobs. And training will be provided. – Chris Mayhew\/team lead<\/span><\/p>\n

Team jobs:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Hands-on storytelling help: Organize and label our photo archives better via physical sorting. Seek out and flag\/pull specific photos needed while maintaining placeholders so they go back to the right place.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Slide\/print\/negative scanners: This job requires some basic computer skills, but not photo editing skills. I already have a PDF guide on how to scan and name files created by member and photo scanning expert Dave Oroszi.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Digital creators: Photo editing, storyboard work, and video creation. If you have an interest in this and have some experience in this area, then I will collaborate closely with you to speed more projects into the production pipeline.<\/span>

    If you’re a photographer eager to elevate your portfolio, grab your DSLR and dive into a vibrant community of train enthusiasts.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The individual in this position will be tasked with capturing genuine moments of club members during meetings and events. These candid photographs will not only create lasting memories but will also be crucial for promoting the club and highlighting its activities to a broader audience. By focusing on the interactions and camaraderie among members, these images will help attract new members and reinforce the sense of community.<\/span><\/p>\n

    To ensure all photographs are organized and easily accessible, the person will systematically arrange and store images in a dedicated Google Drive folder. This will involve creating a structured filing system that categorizes photos by event, date, and type of activity, making it easy for club leaders and members to find and utilize the images as needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The ideal candidate for this role should be highly self-motivated, able to work independently, and take the initiative to capture moments without needing constant supervision. They should also possess excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure that all photographs are accurately labeled and stored. Proficiency with technology is essential, as the candidate will need to navigate various digital tools for photography, editing, and file management, as well as be comfortable using Google Drive and other relevant software.<\/span><\/p>\n

    In summary, this role is crucial for enhancing the club’s visibility and engagement through visual storytelling, and the right candidate will play a significant part in fostering a vibrant and connected community.<\/span><\/p>\n
